Professor Massimiliano Marianelli, the Rector of the University of Perugia, has been proposed for the conferment of an Honor of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (OMRI). The nomination was sent to the Prefecture of Perugia by Antonio Nesci, editor-in-chief of the national online newspaper La Prima Pagina.
The nomination highlights Marianelli’s academic, cultural, and personal journey, with particular emphasis on his experience leading the Department of Philosophy, Social, Human, and Educational Sciences, as well as his ongoing commitment to students and the academic community.
During his mandate, the Rector has demonstrated a strong dedication to strengthening the ties between the University, the local territory, and institutions, envisioning the University as a cultural, ethical, and human stronghold serving the common good.
The news of the OMRI nomination was previewed live on national television on Canale Italia, during the program Notizie Oggi hosted by Massimo Martire, confirming the public interest in the proposed recognition.
